The All new Volkswagen Crafter 2018 | as big as it gets
VW Crafter is a worthy successor to the popular and time-tested Volkswagen LT, which set new standards in technology, reliability, efficiency and individuality. The name is derived from the English word "craft," that is, "craft." The distinctive design skillfully combines the typical features of the Volkswagen style and the powerful features of trucks. Four thick crossmembers are built into the massive grille. Coupled with large, vertically arranged double headlights, the front part of the Crafter was very recognizable.
Crafter is presented in several weight categories at once: Crafter 30, Crafter 35 and Crafter 50 with a total weight of 3.0, 3.5 and 5.0 tons respectively. The car comes with three possible wheelbases of 3250, 3665 and 4325 mm, as well as in the variant Kasten, with an extended overhang. The number of roof options has also grown. In addition to the normal and high roof for the Kasten variant, it is possible to install an ultra-high plastic roof with a height of 2.14 meters inside the body. The volume of the body, depending on the version is in the range between 7.5 and 17 m3.
Comfort begins with convenient access to the cabin. To get into the Crafter's cabin, the driver and front passenger enter through a tall and wide doorway. Spacious, functional, well-equipped - the Volkswagen Crafter cab is a model of a mobile workplace. The driver's seat has an excellent upholstery and ergonomic shape, providing high comfort and effective lateral support on long journeys. The seat is equipped with a stepless height adjustment and separate adjustment of the lumbar support. Soft upholstery looks very attractive and provides effective sound insulation of the cabin.
Depending on the configuration, the center console has three DIN compartments in which you can install a radio receiver, a CD changer, a navigation system with a display or a tachograph. The incredibly large number of options allows Crafter to be ideally suited for the most specific needs. This list includes Climatic air conditioning for the cabin with automatic air temperature control, a separate air conditioner for the rear part of the passenger compartment with air ducts in the ceiling and a separate air heater that is supplied to the legs of the passengers through the air duct in the left wall of the body. In addition, the car can be equipped with additional heaters. The cabin air heater can operate for up to 120 minutes, and the water heater runs for up to 60 minutes and serves to heat the engine coolant. In cold weather, a water heater allows you to start the engine already warm, which reduces its wear, as well as heat the cabin before the engine starts.
The four-door Crafter version of the Crafter can be either six or seven seats, comes standard with four doors and is available in all three wheelbase options. At the rear of the cab is a four-seater seat with three-point seat belts and height-adjustable head restraints, as well as large and practical storage compartments under each passenger seat. The cab's rear doors are now equipped with openable windows and mesh “pockets”, and two hooks for outerwear are provided on the racks. An additional air duct is installed on the floor for heating the rear passenger compartment.
Passenger version of the Crafter offers up to nine seats. The interior of the car is fully finished with textiles and plastic and includes two-seater and three-seater seats in several versions, which allows you to configure the cabin at its discretion thanks to a system of "fast" mounts. All seats are equipped with three-point seat belts and head restraints adjustable in height, and under the order they can be equipped with Isofix anchorages for installing car seats for children.
Crafter is equipped with the most advanced model in its class security package. Standard equipment includes: ESP (Electronic Stabilization System), ABS (anti-lock braking system), ASR (traction control), EDL (electronic differential lock) and driver airbag. In addition, the increased strength of the body in the front for improved protection during collisions.
