AvtoVAZ is positioning the Lada XRAY as a B-class hatchback, made in the style of an SUV. At the heart of the car is a front-drive platform "B0", borrowed from partners Renault-Nissan. The same chassis formed the basis of cars Renault Sandero Stepway and Logan. Hatchback length is 4164 mm, width - 1764 mm, height - 1570 mm, wheelbase - 2592 mm. The exterior design of the Lada XRAY was designed by Russian developers under the leadership of Steve Mattin. The main feature of the exterior is the X-shaped frontal part of the body and the similar design of the body side panels. A heavily tilted windshield, short overhangs and a sloping roof add to the silhouette dynamism. Harmoniously looks narrow head optics, made in the form of an irregular quadrilateral. The hatchback feed looks neat and tightened by boomerang-shaped lights, a compact trunk lid and a bumper with an overlay of unpainted plastic. Designers managed to create an image not devoid of individuality.
The interior of the Lada XRAY is concise and thoughtful. The devices are placed in three "wells", on the right side is the display of the onboard computer. The steering wheel with four-spoke design has a pronounced relief, and in the "top" versions it has keys for controlling multimedia functions. There is no adjustment of the steering wheel on the flight, which is partially compensated by the height adjustment of the driver's seat.

In the decoration of the hatchback used mainly hard, but textured plastic, the seats are covered with a pleasant to the touch and high-quality fabric. To fit the elements of the dashboard, door trim and other parts of the cabin no complaints. Noise isolation is much higher than that of cars previously produced by the automaker.
The front passenger seats have a wide range of adjustments, but weak lateral support. The back sofa is well-formed and offers the riders an ample supply of space, but the three of them are cramped.
Special boxes for storing things will help to rationally use the internal space: at the door - voluminous pockets with cupholders, under the front passenger seat - a retractable box, and under the center console - a couple of niches and a few cupholders.
The volume of the trunk of the hatchback is 376 liters, and when the backrest of the back sofa is folded, the size of the compartment increases to 1,382 liters. At the same time it turns out a flat platform, and the “underground” is hidden under the raised floor. At the bottom is a full 15-inch "spare wheel", although the standard car is equipped with wheels R16.
The 16-valve engine with a 1.6-liter capacity of 106 hp became the basic power unit. He works in tandem with the 5-step "mechanics" of the production Renault and accelerates the car to 100 km / h in 11.9 s. Fuel consumption in the combined cycle - 7.5 liters per "hundred".
The intermediate version of the power plant is represented by a 1.6-liter engine producing 114 hp. It is also equipped with manual transmission on 5 levels. The declared average fuel consumption is 6.9 liters per 100 km. Acceleration to a hundred takes 10.3 seconds.
The top-end was a 123-hp engine with a working volume of 1.8 liters, which was already tested on the Priora model. This engine is combined with a 5-band robotic transmission, consuming an average of 7.1 liters per 100 km. Dynamics - 10.9 seconds to accelerate from zero to 100 km / h.
The front axle of the XRAY hatchback is equipped with an independent suspension with McPherson struts, and the rear axle with a semi-independent architecture with a torsion beam. The steering mechanism has a rack and pinion structure with an integrated electro-hydraulic power steering. On wheels mounted front ventilated discs of the brake system, rear - drum devices.
For Lada XRAY (at the start of sales) there are two main configurations - "Optima" and "Top". Plus two additional packages - "Comfort" and "Prestige".
The basic version includes: two frontal airbags, immobilizer, on-board computer, daytime running lights, ABS with EBD, stabilization function (ESV), technology to start uphill, electro-hydraulic power steering, ERA-GLONASS system, power windows front doors, "music" with four speakers and 16-inch wheels.
The car in the version "Optima" + "Comfort" in addition to the basic equipment gets air conditioning, heated front seats and a cooled storage box.
The "Top" version offers: fog lights, rear electric windows, electric drive and electric heating for exterior mirrors, rear parking sensors, a multimedia complex with a 7-inch touchscreen display, navigation.
In the arsenal of picking "Top" + "Prestige" there are: heated windscreen, climate control, rain and light sensors, rear view camera and enhanced tinted glass.
So far, the manufacturer offers XRAY only with front wheel drive. But this is not going to stop here, as it plans to launch another model in the series - the XRAY Cross, which will just get four-wheel drive.
