VAZ 2107 with mileage 11.000 km and a weight of 1.5 tons
As once the "six" - was considered more prestigious than the VAZ-2103, and the VAZ-2107 Zhiguli / Lada 1500SL / Lada Riva ("seven"), produced since 1982, compared to the "five" was exclusive in itself. The differences are already noticeable in appearance: a different solution to the front of the hood with a stamped under the chrome-plated metal grille (under which the hood is rusting perfectly), new rear block lights. Inside, the car is quite consistent with the then ideas about modern aesthetics (early 1980s): the "glare-free" instrument panel with a tachometer, additional service sensors and instruments. Anatomical seats with improved quality of finish against the background of the same type of VAZ-2105 look more solid: the front backs are made completely with headrests, there is a special folding armrest in the back of the back. But for such equipment sellers (and earlier the state) request a larger amount than even for the classic VAZ-2106 or front-wheel drive three-door hatchback VAZ-2108. The "seven" has improved passive safety, good all-round visibility, limited, though, by the rear pillars and high seatbacks, but the advantages of dynamic engines nullify the poor assembly and lack of anti-corrosion body coating. The scourge of all rear-wheel drive "Zhiguli" depresses as well - the high loading height of the trunk, problems with the engine block, camshaft belt breaks and loose bolted connections of cars manufactured from 1990 to 1996.
Initially, four-cylinder carburetor engines were installed on models VAZ-2107, -21072, -21074, respectively, models 2103, 2105 and 2106. Since 1990, the engines are equipped with connecting rods of new design, and after another four years, the VAZ-21011 with a chain-mounted camshaft was installed on a slightly common modification of the VAZ-21072. For the European market, according to the requirements of environmental protection, the VAZ-21073 sedan, equipped with a 1.7-liter engine producing 84 hp, has been produced since 1991. with central injection system and catalytic converter. For the Chinese market, the model VAZ-2107 N71 series with a 66-strong 1.45-liter short-stroke engine VAZ-21033-10, working on gasoline A-76 (the other "sevens" work only on gasoline with an octane rating not lower than 91). Also, by special orders, the plant manufactures expensive VAZ-21079 sedans with a Wankel rotary-piston rotor-piston engine, which, if broken, is very rare. However, in this case, it can be repaired only in the VAZ service center. Ordinary consumers are so voracious and unstable at high speeds a car, perhaps, to anything. The spring suspension of all wheels is quite energy-consuming and comfortable while driving. However, scratches dashboard annoying, outdated ergonomics of the working space, non-linear run-down (with uninformative steering control constantly have to control the trajectory of movement). Large and uneven gaps between the door panels, the bonnet and the body — over time, these problems are spreading due to the natural wear and tear of the car and the fatigue damage and deformation of the strength elements of the body.
Sellers sell many of the cars sold in the market for re-export, pointing to a label with the letter E on the headlights, glass, tires, rear-view mirrors or car nameplate. However, letter E was installed at the plant after special homologation tests, and the figure after the letter indicates the country, the rules of which correspond to these units and assemblies: 1 - Germany (Germany); 2 - France; 3 - Italy; 8 - Czechoslovakia, etc. It is also not recommended to purchase cars older than eight years (since 1990). In general, the VAZ-2107 can reasonably be called the most advanced and comfortable rear-wheel-drive domestic sedan, moreover, quite a lot of different companies are engaged in tuning “VAZ” models, and the “seven” can be retrofitted with all the comfort and dynamics that enhance, and for “just ridiculous money "compared to foreign cars.
Since 2001, a new program for a complete set of models was adopted, for the model VAZ 2107 there appeared versions - “standard” and “norm”, for VAZ 21074 - “norm” and “lux”.
