Standardly, all power units are paired with a manual gearbox with six gears, but for a 150-horsepower diesel engine, a choice of 6-speed automatic transmission is available, and for gasoline engines of 1.8 and 2.0 liters - continuously variable Multidrive with imitation of manual shift using oars on the steering wheel.
Safety is also an important distinctive feature of the Avensis 2012. The basic package includes: stability control VSC, ABS, traction control TRC, cruise control and seven airbags.
