The premiere took place in July 2007 at the Geneva Motor Show. This crossover is the result of close cooperation between Mitsubishi Motors and PSA Peugeot Citroen. He absorbed all the best that both automobile concerns possessed. At the core lies the Mitsubishi Outlander platform.

The traditional "cat" appearance of the front of the car demonstrates compliance with the design of the 4007 Peugeot's overall stylistic line. A big impression is made by the grille combined with the air intake, and the narrow blockheads, this immediately gives the car a very aggressive look. A little "softens" this impression chrome-plated molding on the border of the air intake. In the same frame, fog lights look more sophisticated and stylish. The bulging wings are the personification of the power and sporting character of the car. Wide wheel arches, alloy wheels of impressive diameter and increased ground clearance emphasize the dynamics of the car when driving in all driving conditions. Behind, the Peugeot 4007 looks more traditional for compact SUVs. Chrome exhaust pipe, spoiler on the back door, dark red glass lanterns. The length of the SUV is 4.64 m.

When finishing the interior of the cabin, innovative materials have been applied that can withstand large temperature changes. The black dashboard, made of a pleasant-to-touch texture, gives the cabin a strict and dynamic style at the same time. The silver inserts, the leather-trimmed steering wheel and shift knob are pleasing to the eye and reinforce the vivid impressions of the car. Inside, everything is at hand. Instruments of the control panel have an interesting rounded shape and are slightly recessed in the torpedo. The red illumination of the control buttons for the multimedia or audio system, as well as the climate control knobs, enhances the sporty notes in the interior of the Peugeot 4007.

Under the hood is a 2.2 liter diesel engine with a common rail system and direct fuel injection. The patented technology is used in the power unit, which allows to significantly reduce harmful emissions into the environment, and of course, there is a fine particle filter, which has become standard equipment for cars of this class. In the development of the motor on an equal footing with PSA Ford participated. Engine power reaches 156 hp at a torque of 380 N / m. It is noteworthy that the motor can operate on 30 percent biofuel. The power unit is paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox.

Management of the four-wheel drive relies on a well-functioning and precise chassis work, the development of which was given special attention. Elements such as steering, rear axle, brakes and hydro-vacuum booster have been revised and adapted to work with maximum efficiency.

Standard equipment includes side and front airbags, brake force distribution and stability control, leather interior, climate control, on-board computer, emergency braking system and much more.

Peugeot 4007 is a fusion of safety and dynamism, aesthetics of form and innovation. The car is produced at the Mitsubishi plant in Japan.
