The world premiere of the model took place in November 2011 at the Los Angeles Auto Show. Infiniti JX belongs to the luxury family car segment. This is the first car of this type in the company Infiniti. When developing the model, the main attention was paid to the ergonomics of the cabin, as well as the creation of a cozy atmosphere and a high level of comfort.
The front part of the crossover is framed with narrowed optics and a slightly swollen front edge of the hood, which carry the recognizable image of the Infiniti brand, which has become the brand name. The car has impressive dimensions: 4989 mm is in length, 1961mm in width and 1742 mm in height. The wheelbase of the car is equal to 2901 millimeters. The creators of the JX gave the opportunity to offer one of the most spacious salons in the class, so that none of the seven passengers feel any discomfort. In the cabin there are three rows of seats that do not interfere with the car and have a large trunk, thanks to a thoughtful transformation. The backs of the seats fold easily (second row in the ratio of 60:40, third - 50:50). In order to facilitate landing on the gallery, the backs of the second row are conveniently deflected. The child seat installed in the second row will not have to be removed. The third row itself is very spacious, adult passengers of any height can freely sit on it, especially since the seats of the middle row have a longitudinal adjustment.
JX is offered in two versions - AWD AWD and front-wheel drive. The car was built on a modified Nissan platform with McPherson racks at the front and a multi-link rear structure. For the timely transition of the transmission to the all-wheel drive mode, the electro-hydraulic clutch in the rear wheel drive is responsible, but the full drive is available only as an option.
Ventilated brake discs and single piston floating calipers are mounted on all four wheels. Standard wheels - cast, diameter of 18 inches, shod in all-season tires 235 / 65R18, you can optionally order 20-inch (size tires 235 / 55R20).
The engine of the Infiniti JX is only one - a 3.5-liter naturally aspirated V6 that delivers 262 hp. at 6,400 engine revolutions per minute and 336 Nm of torque. Together with it, a V-belt variator works, equipped with a Drive Mode Selector controller, which allows you to choose one of four modes of transmission operation — standard, sporty, economical, and winter. Due to the wide choice of operating modes of the gearbox, the driver can feel confident in all weather conditions and on any road surface. In sports mode, the box simulates a manual shift, keeping the current gear as long as possible, thereby delivering real driving pleasure. Thanks to the excellent aerodynamic performance, the fuel consumption of the powerful engine was significantly reduced. On a 100 km track in the JX combined cycle, it consumes 12.4 liters of fuel.
The manufacturer offered JX a wide range of security systems. This included a system for detecting interference in blind zones, assist in emergency braking and warning of a possible collision. A novelty is a system that can interfere with driving and stop it when the driver does not respond to an approaching obstacle. Equipped with a car and six airbags.
The SUV has only one, but very rich equipment, which can be supplemented with separate options, or one of the fixed sets of additional equipment. Such, for example, as a multimedia system with a hard disk, navigation, all-round cameras, a Bose audio system with 15 speakers and 7-inch displays in the headrests of the front seats.
JX became the first production car of the brand, which realized the capabilities of Infiniti Connection and Infiniti Connection Plus. With their help, the owner of an SUV can get a huge amount of information. For example, the notice that the car is stolen. Another interesting feature is the setting of territorial boundaries and speed limits.
Infiniti JX is manufactured at a plant in Smyrna, Tennessee.
