Great Wall H8, Hover H8 2014

The premiere show of the Chinese crossover Great Wall Hover H8 was held in April 2013 at the Shanghai Auto Show. In Russia, sales started in the summer of 2014. It is noteworthy that in China and a number of countries in Asia and Africa the car is sold under the name Haval H8.

The length of the Great Wall Hover H8 body is 4806 mm, while the wheelbase accounts for 2915 mm, the crossover width is limited to 1975 mm, and the height does not exceed 1794 mm. The height of the ground clearance is 197 mm in rear-wheel drive versions and 210 mm in all-wheel drive versions. With standard factory-installed tires 235/60 R18, the front wheel track is 1647 mm and the rear wheel track is 1649 mm.

According to representatives of the company Great Wall, the car is built on a completely new platform, body parts are made with the wide use of durable and high-strength steel, and laser is used to weld them.

Hover H8 turned out to be stylish and modern, with some degree of originality. In the exterior, you can see the notes of European and Japanese competitors, but still we must admit that there is no direct copying of other people's design ideas. The appearance of the Hover H8 is distinguished by a massive design of the front end, the aerodynamic contours of the body and sports elements of the decor.

The front part of the car has at its disposal: classic round fog lights, LED strip daytime running lights, chrome grille, compact xenon headlights. The side of the car body demonstrates the correctness of the forms and the conciseness of the lines: large doors of the first and second rows, large wheelbase, minimal overhangs, a soft line falling to the rear of the roof, circular wheel arches capable of placing more than 18 base alloy wheels on the base wheels large disks 19 radius with rubber 255/50 R19. The back of the Hover H8 (Haval H8) is framed in the traditional way for large crossovers - a huge tailgate with compact glass, large ceiling lights with LED fillings, a bumper with integrated trapezium exhaust system and a protective overlay of metal.

Salon Hover H8 is designed for five passengers and offers a large amount of free space on both rows of seats, comfortable fit, high-quality finish and well-thought-out ergonomics, especially in the driver's seat, which is provided with maximum comfort and ease of access to controls. The luggage compartment can hold a load of 700 liters, and with the second row of seats folded, all 1800 liters.

Great Wall Hover H8 is available with two trim levels: Standard and Luxury. The initial includes xenon headlights, rain and light sensors, adaptive fog lights, daytime driving lights, electric heated mirrors, electric sunroof, adaptive cruise control, keyless access Intelligent Key and engine start button, leather-covered multifunction steering wheel, on-board computer color screen, leather interior, comfortable front seats with electric and heated, three-zone climate control.

As well as the 8-inch TFT Touch Screen color screen (audio system with 10 AUX USB CD MP3 speakers, GPS navigator, rear view camera), front and rear parking sensors, eight airbags, ABS, EBD, BA, TCS, ESP , HAC, TPMS, anti-rollover systems, monitoring the driver’s physical condition and warning of speeding.

In Greytvol Hover 8 in the maximum configuration Luxury added adaptive headlights HID Xenon with washer, heated windshield, tailgate with electric drive, heated side rear seats, front seats with electric drive and memory settings settings. The choice of engines for Hover H8 is not provided. Under the hood is a 4-cylinder petrol power unit with a turbocharging system, direct fuel injection, variable valve timing and a 16-valve timing DOHC type. Its maximum power reaches 218 hp, and the peak of torque falls on the mark of 324 Nm. The motor is aggregated with a non-alternative 6-band "automatic" ZF with manual shift function and three modes of operation: Eco, Sport and Snow.

The basic modification of the crossover offers only rear-wheel drive, and for an extra charge or in top-end equipment, the car is equipped with an intelligent all-wheel drive TOD system that connects the front axle. The TOD system analyzes data from a variety of sensors in real time, providing almost instantaneous transmission of thrust to all four wheels at the moment when the traffic situation requires it. In addition, the car received the NIVOMAT system, which automatically maintains the height of the crossover body at a given level, even under the condition of full load.

The suspension of the crossover is completely independent: on the double wishbone at the front and at the base of the multi-link design at the back. On all wheels, the manufacturer uses reinforced disc brakes (ventilated at the front).

The crossover will be produced in the Lipetsk region at the joint venture Great Wall and the Russian dealer of the company Irito.
