The UAZ 2206 car is an off-road minivan, which was first introduced by the Russian automobile company UAZ (Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant) in 1985. Its main purpose was to transport passengers, but it could also be used to transport goods. The main advantage of this car is its throughput. He could move without any problems, not only on bad roads, but even where there are simply none. In the people, this model is called “loaf” or “loaf”, so called for its body shape and transverse grooves on the roof of the car, resembling bread notches.

The minibus UAZ 2206 has an all-metal body, which is based on a reliable frame structure. The exterior design of the car is pretty harsh, or rather it is almost nonexistent, but it does not claim to be a beautiful family minivan. This car is “the king of the roads”, and there the external attributes do not play a special role.

Initially, the UMZ 4178.10 four-cylinder engines with a volume of 2.5 liters and 74 and 76 hp were offered for the UAZ 2206. The power unit was located (however, its location has not changed today) lengthwise. And the engine worked in tandem with a 4-speed gearbox. Minibus, as befits an SUV, has a permanent all-wheel drive. However, it is worth noting that the design of the front axle allowed the disabling of the front hubs. Spring front and rear suspension with shock absorbers that damped the vertical sway of the body. The dual circuit braking system included drum front and rear brakes. The maximum speed was 110 km / h.

In 1996, in order to increase the thrust and dynamics of the car, a new UMZ 4218.10 carburetor engine with a volume of 2.9 liters was proposed; its capacity was 84 hp. and 86 hp (UMZ 4213 injection engine of 99 hp will appear later). Note that this was the first time in the history of the domestic automotive industry, when an aluminum cylinder block with cast-iron thin-walled sleeves was used. This technology has increased the rigidity of the unit and reduced friction energy loss. It should be borne in mind that the oil consumption was reduced almost four times, and gasoline and a half liters, unlike the production model. The updated version received model number 22069. The maximum speed of the minibus increased to 117 km / h.

The number of seats in the cabin varies from 9 to 11, depending on the configuration. There are also two versions for both 2206 and 22069: the UAZ 2206 (9) -04 version has a seven-seater cabin with an easily removable table, and the UAZ 2206 (9) -033 model is a “deluxe” version with soft seats and upholstery, two hatches and other additional options.

Another advantage of this model is ease of maintenance and high reliability even when operating in harsh conditions. By the way, until now (in some structures they continue), this model has been widely used in such special structures as ambulance, MES, and others. Depending on the purpose and specificity of the organization, the models were equipped with the necessary equipment.
