Volkswagen Gol 2017 - Primer vistazo en AutoDinámico

Gol - class B model, was specially developed by Volkswagen concern for the South American market. The first generation Gol started in 1980 and immediately began to enjoy great success in the automotive market, especially in Brazil. It is in this country that Gol is produced. Practicality and reliability made this car the most popular and best-selling in its class.

The name of the car has some peculiarity. In Russia, the model is called Pointer. Having decided that for the Russian ear Gol does not sound as presentable as we would like.

In 1994, the model is upgraded. It becomes more modern, functional and beautiful.

On the threshold of a new era in 2000, the third generation Gol. The experience gained over the years has allowed the creator to bring to perfection all the qualities of the car. The creators have made changes to more than 600 items. Starting from the front, a completely modernized part, including the slightest finishing touches. For Gol III was created a new tough, improved form of the body. 70% galvanized body panels guarantee a high degree of corrosion protection. The bumper is streamlined and painted in the color of the car makes the front part more complete. In addition, it has an outer rail and an amplifier made of polypropylene with foam filling (EPP) to improve the damping properties of shocks at low speeds, for example, during parking. The design of the front of the car completes the new lining of the radiator, which covers the edges of the fog lights with elliptical modular optics and hemispherical lenses.

Gol III is equipped with tinted glass, rear-view mirrors, providing excellent visibility, and rails for installing the trunk. The dimensions of the car are 3,916 mm in length and 1,621 in width.

The back of the Gol has also been significantly modified. A more streamlined shape of the luggage compartment together with glued rear window form a smooth streamlined surface. This impression is enhanced by the rear position lamps and the new trunk handle, which are recessed into the level with the car body. The volume of the luggage compartment is 285 liters, if you fold the rear seat it will increase markedly. The design of the rear of the third generation Gol completes the bumper, equipped, like the front, with a black protective molding, and a modified wiper with an expanded cleaning area. Black exhaust pipe is hidden under the bumper.

Now a few words about the cabin. Chairs for front passengers have become more comfortable and provide the ability to adjust to the nearest millimeter. Chrome trim interior details (door handles, a ring around the gear lever). The dashboard has also undergone a reconstruction. Now it is made of molded plastic and has a soft coating that gives the interior of the cabin a feeling of comfort and coziness. A characteristic feature of this panel is the orange-red backlight with adjustable brightness.

The suspension for the new Gol is equipped with decentralized coil springs to reduce the effect of lateral forces. The spring travel is adjusted to provide maximum comfort.

Cone-shaped springs of the front suspension have a small diameter at the bottom and gradually increase to the upper mount. This configuration provides that at the moment when the spring is compressed, its turns do not touch each other. Thus, the forces acting on the suspension are absorbed more evenly.

Another important characteristic of the front suspension is its ability to maintain the level of the car in an emergency, such as a tire break or sudden braking. Thrust elements are made of polyurethane, which provides an advantage over rubber, because they have the best cushioning qualities. Brake pads are made of wear-resistant material. The brakes are also equipped with an anti-noise filter that absorbs unpleasant grinding sounds. The brake system has been upgraded to provide faster and more accurate pedal response.

The ventilation system is quite simple to use and is regulated by means of a rotating handle. It provides sound insulation, and the microfilter prevents dust from entering the cabin.

The range of engines is a petrol volume of 1 liter with 65 hp and the average fuel consumption on the highway is 5.7 liters per 100 km. The maximum speed of the five-door hatchback is 157 km / h, and acceleration to 100 km / h takes 15 seconds.

It is planned to release cars with a volume of 1.8 liters and a capacity of 100 hp. In the autumn of this year it is planned to start selling Gol III in Russia. The car will be offered in three versions: baseline, Comfortline and Highline. Among the basic options we will find the power steering, reinforced suspension, rear window heating, and power brakes. In the top version there are anti-lock brakes, air conditioning, airbags, alloy wheels, etc. The price of new items will start from 9 thousand euros.

The figures show the high popularity of Gol, since 1980 more than 3.5 million units of several generations of cars have been produced.
