The ALL MODE 4x4 system provides increased safety when driving on snow, ice, slopes or other difficult road conditions that you may encounter when traveling to the ski slopes or walking in the countryside.
The model range of Nissan X-Trail engines includes: a new gasoline QR25 with a volume of 2.5 liters / 165 hp; advanced QR20 gasoline engine of 2.0 l / 140 hp; 2.2 liter YD22 turbo diesel engine, combining Common Rail system with M-Fire technology and intermediate cooling.
The Common Rail system in conjunction with M-Fire offers advantages such as burning fuel without soot formation, less toxicity, less fuel consumption, and reduced noise levels.

In 2007, updating the exterior and interior design, as well as improving the technical equipment, Nissan presented the second generation X-Trail to the public at the Geneva Motor Show. The first thing the car appeared in Europe, and then spread throughout the world. By the end of 2007, it could be found in Australia, then in the USA and Canada, where the usual name for us X-Trail was replaced with the French Rogue.
The car has obviously grown up, it has become more massive and solid. Overall dimensions - length / width / height: 4770/1880/1685 mm, wheelbase is 2825 mm. The second-generation X-Trail was built on the Nissan C platform, on the basis of which the Nissan Qashqai crossover was released a year earlier (2006).
In the design of the exterior there are no global changes. In the newcomer, compared to its predecessor, the headlights have slightly changed, a little bit - the rear lights, but most importantly, the square style of the main body elements remained intact. Nissan says that the reason for the obvious similarity between the two generations is the conservatism of the owners of the first X-Trail (the most obvious potential buyers of the second). As a result, external changes can be considered a restyling, since fundamentally new solutions cannot be found here.
Inside, the changes are more noticeable. First of all, the instrument panel returned to its usual place, that is, it moved from the center of the dashboard to the steering wheel. It is clear that this change radically affected the overall style of the decor. Finishing materials are much better. The front seats have a sufficient amount of electric adjustment, good lateral support and thoughtful geometry of the profile of the seats, so that the driver and passenger of any complexion feel comfortable. The back sofa folds in the proportion of 40/20/40, allowing you to transport long-length and leaving room for passengers. Almost vertical side pillars and high ceiling provide a reserve of space both in width and overhead. An additional sensation of volume in the cabin gives the increased hatch almost the entire length of the roof.

The presentation of the third generation Nissan X-Trail was held in September 2013 at the International Motor Show in Frankfurt. This is a completely new vehicle, developed from scratch and the fruit of the collaboration of Japanese engineers from Nissan and the French from Renault. A brand new crossover body, well-thought-out interior and outstanding fuel consumption in its modesty will allow the X-Trail 2014 to challenge such segment grandees as the Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4.
The wheelbase of the X-Trail grew by 76 mm (2,710 mm), but the overall length of the body increased only by 17 mm (4,630 mm) due to shorter overhangs, the width increased by 23 mm (1,840 mm). Ground clearance was maintained at 210 mm, despite the reduced height of the body by 65 mm (1680 mm).
First of all, the manufacturer was surprised by a radical change of image. The famous X-Trail lost its former brutality and began to look like a standard crossover. It is noteworthy that even in the base version for high and low beams only LED headlights are installed. Chrome insert in the form of a letter V adorns the compact grille and conventionally divides it into three sections. In the center of the grid is traditionally emblazoned with the Nissan logo. The steering wheel is multifunctional. Tiered dashboard and beautiful dashboard, equipped with a five-inch color graphics screen, adorn the area in front of the windshield. The center console has also changed. It houses a seven-inch multimedia touch screen. It is used to adjust all the options. This includes a climate control system, navigation, a 360-degree camera, a rear-view camera, and an Aux-in USB Bluetooh audio system. The center console received holders of glasses and containers for bottles.
The front seats of the crossover, made by the "zero gravity" technology and inspired by NASA technology provide passengers with maximum comfort. They are heated and electric. At the disposal of the rear passengers a spacious sofa (according to the 40/20/40 scheme) and a maximum of free space. By the way, the rear doors open at an angle of 77 degrees, making the landing and leaving the car extremely comfortable.
An additional two seats, so that the crossover could accommodate seven people, are available for a fee, which is called the "Family Package." It also includes tubeless tires that require less trunk space for a spare tire. In recognition of the Japanese themselves, the third row of seats is intended only for the rare transportation of children. If the third row of seats is used, then the amount of luggage is reduced to 0.27 cubic meters. The addition of both rear rows of seats increases the trunk up to 2 cubic meters. Owners of crossover models with two rows of seats will be able to enjoy the benefits of the Divide-N-Hide storage system (divide and hide), which has 18 configurations and allows you to transport dirty boots and clean clothes separately and safely. If you consider the level under the boot floor, the storage system is three-legged.
The technical characteristics of the Nissan X-Trail 2014 for different countries are almost identical, due to the fact that the crossover is positioned as a global model based on the Common Module Family (CMF), owned by Renault-Nissan. Thanks to this unification, all models of cars will receive ALL MODE 4x4i - an improved system of all-wheel drive. In addition to technical innovations, this system has received a purely ergonomic: now the control knob is located between the front seats, on the tunnel. This system has three modes of operation: 2WD, Lock, Auto, however, for an additional fee, a front-wheel drive version is provided. Regardless of the type of drive, the X-Trail features MacPherson strut struts and a multi-link rear suspension.
Two engines are available for petrol engines - 2.0 liter (141 hp) and 2.5 liter (169 hp). Diesel line offers several new DCI power units, the first of which has a volume of 1.6 liters (150 hp), the second - 2.0 liters (180 hp). All engines are aggregated with 6-speed manual transmission, automatic transmission, or Xtronic CVT. Fuel consumption, declared by the manufacturer, is quite acceptable 7-9.6 liters, depending on the engine and the selected transmission.
The car received such modern electronic systems as: engine braking system Active Engine Brake; system of ensuring the increased smoothness of movement, Active Ride Control; active steering system Active Trace Control; as well as Advance Hill Descent Control and Uphill Start Support.
