Mercedes C Class 2019

MERSEDES-BENZ C-class - a series of middle-class cars. The generation of small Mercedes-Benz called C-class (body of the factory series W202) was born in April 1993 and became the official ancestor of the series "C". Mercedes in the back of the W202 was a worthy replacement for the popular Mercedes 190, released in nearly a million copies.

Mercedes C-Class 1993 year

The new model has retained the basic principles that traditionally put the brand of Mercedes-Benz cars out of time and out of fashion: this is the most elaborate design and design, a skillful combination of traditional solutions and the latest technologies (such as the addition of the classic rear-wheel-drive layout of the multi-link rear suspension). This car has a great view from the salon, a great selection of all the details of the interior. Dimensions do not hit (4480x1720x1415 mm), but compared to the predecessor, passengers in the back seat are not so closely. The rear folding seat row allows you to carry flat long loads in the trunk, since the luggage compartment threshold is low.

Standard equipment received electric windows. Headlight switch with automatic fog lamp shutoff system, nominally installed exterior heated mirrors.

Much attention in the C-class is given to passive safety. As standard, the car was originally equipped with ABS, an airbag for the driver, height-adjustable seat belts with pre-tensioners and catalytic converters of exhaust gases (this is a concern for the safety of the environment).

For the first time in many years, the concern on the C-class model introduced separation according to trim levels. Classic cloth upholstery has become the most modest and budget. The performance of Sport with a carbon finish on the center console and sports tires with dimensions of 205/60 R15 is emphasized sports. Elegance with walnut veneer and leather steering wheel in the color of the interior became the top of the C-class. And the execution of the Esprit with aluminum trim and low ground clearance carried the youth "paint". All finishes are almost arbitrarily combined with all engine options.

Initially, the W202 model range included the C180, C220 and C280 models, equipped with four and six-cylinder petrol engines M102.910, M111.960 and M104.942 with 122, 150 and 193 hp, respectively, as well as diesel engines that became very popular C200 D, C220 D and C250 D with economical diesels OM601.911 (75 hp), OM602.911 (95 hp), OM603.911 (113 hp). However, the C220 D model, which perfectly combines the efficiency of an atmospheric four-cylinder diesel engine (7.9 l / 100 km) with sufficient agility in urban driving, can be an attractive "golden mean".

Mercedes C-Class 1996

In October 1993, a 2.0-liter M 111.940 gasoline engine (136 hp) was introduced, which made a good company for the more expensive 2.2-liter M111.960 power unit, but it turned out to be somewhat more economical.

A small modernization carried out in June 1994 affected the model image in the most favorable way. In fact, without increasing the price, the entire C-class range was begun to be equipped with passenger airbags and remotely-controlled headrests in the rear row as standard.

In August 1995, the dashboard was adjusted. Extremely dynamic models also appeared: a 150-strong (OM603.961) turbo-diesel C250 Turbo D and a gasoline 193-strong C230 Kompressor (with a mechanical supercharger of the Roots type). Initially, this 4-cylinder 2.3 liter power unit, which is not inferior in power to a 6-cylinder 2.8 liter engine, was intended only for the SLK roadster. The expansion of the range of engines had to be very useful, since the traction characteristics and power parameters of naturally aspirated diesel engines left much to be desired and did not suit the German buyers who were used to high-speed driving on the autobahns.

It is worth looking at the sporty Mercedes-Benz C36 AMG - tuning version with a "crazy" 3.6-liter 280-strong "six", providing acceleration to hundreds in just 6.7 seconds (but the consumption of 98th gasoline in the city at the same time comes to 17.5 l / 100 km). The standard for this road super version is a 5-band automatic.

In the winter of 1996, a four-door sedan was added to the W202 family with a five-door Touring (abbreviated as T). In his segment of the expensive compact sports-type station wagon, he even outpaced the competitors in the luggage compartment volume in the face of BMW 3-er Touring and Audi A4 Avant. Such a C-Class wagon has a luggage compartment of 465 liters in the normal position of the rear seats, and when they are tilted, the capacity increases to 1,510 liters.

The complete set of all models of the C-class in 1996 was supplemented with a new heating and ventilation system, as well as an air purification filter in the cabin.

Mercedes C-Class 2001

In mid-1997, the model was upgraded, slightly affecting the body design: bumpers, grilles, spoilers and door sills were changed. The main innovations are related to constructive content. There were modernized engines and new automatic transmissions. Four-cylinder 1.8 - 2.0-liter petrol engines rated at 122 and 1.36 hp received variable valve timing intake valves. Two petrol engines appeared - 2.3 liters (150 hp) and 2.4 liters (169 hp) and a 2.2-liter diesel engine. According to established opinion, the most optimal engine is a 2.2-liter petrol. For those who like it, it’s hotter - the 2.8-liter "six" of the S280 with a power of 197 hp

In 1998, diesel engines were transferred to the Common-Rail system: C200CDI (102 hp), C220CDI (125 hp). The most powerful pre-chamber 5-cylinder diesel for the C250 TD model develops 150 hp. and provides even better dynamics, but loses much in profitability. Universals C-class equipped with exactly the same motors. Any of the cars in this class is offered with a 5-speed manual or automatic hydromechanical gearbox. Models C43 AMG are completed only with "automatic". The eight-cylinder forced motor with a working volume of 4.3 liters and 3.6 hp provides them with outstanding dynamics. In addition to the engine, they are distinguished by a special finish, modified bumpers and linings, a stiffer suspension with reduced ground clearance and 17-inch wheels with low profile tires.

In March 2000, a presentation of the third generation of mid-size C-class Mercedes on the new W203 platform took place. The novelty has become a bit more and added in dynamics. The appearance of the car resembles ... S-class in a reduced form and has a pronounced sporty style in the spirit of the CLK models. The classic, rather massive grille is successfully combined with the original headlights, side direction indicators placed on the exterior mirrors. There is a great aerodynamics of the new body, superior model BMW 3 series.

Changes in the design of the body and chassis. A new McPherson-type front suspension appeared on triple wishbones, a sharper rack-and-pinion steering gear, and larger ventilated disc brakes. The structure of the front part of the body includes removable, easily collapsible modules, allowing them to be replaced quickly and without cost after a crash. In a collision up to a speed of 15 km / h, the front module absorbs the impact energy, leaving the spars of the body intact. To reduce the level of vibrations transmitted from the front wheels and the engine to the body, an aluminum subframe is used, on which the suspension and powertrain are mounted.

Mercedes C-Class Coupe 2002

The basic equipment of the car includes more than twenty technical innovations, previously used only on models of the highest class. The cabin has two front (two-stage operation) and two side airbags, as well as two side safety curtains for the front passengers. You can order two side airbags for the rear passengers. Due to the complete rejection of the spare wheel, the capacity of the luggage compartment has been increased. Instead, an ejectro compressor for tire inflation and a special tire sealant Tiretit are offered.

There are three versions of cars that have already become traditional: Classic, Elegance and Avantgarde, differing in decoration and equipment. Basic Classic is "classic restraint". More expensive Elegance has improved equipment, including chrome trim, 15-inch alloy wheels and leather steering wheel; dynamic Avantgarde with bluish tinted windows, aluminum trim parts and 16-inch alloy wheels. In the fall of 2000, added two more options "luxury" equipment from the tuning studio Designo and AMG.

Standard equipment of the Classic line includes: a steering column with height and tilt adjustment; multifunction steering wheel; armrest with compartment for small things; exterior mirrors with heated and electrically adjustable; power windows, remote control lock trunk; rear head restraints; tensioning system and limiting the tension force of seat belts in the front and rear seats; Window-Bag airbag, which opens during a side impact in the form of a curtain between the front and rear racks; automatic heating and ventilation system with recirculation mode; automatic climate control; outdoor temperature sensor; two-stage frontal airbags; inertial seat belts in the rear seat; system of automatic recognition of the presence of child seats; passenger presence recognition system in the front seat; tachometer; wood trim Calyptus Linea; automatic dipped beam; fog lights; dust filter; antenna in the rear window; trip computer; locking system ELCODE; six-speed manual transmission; side direction indicators in exterior mirrors; power steering; side airbags in the front doors; electric adjustment of the height of the pillow and the position of the backrest; SPEEDTRONIC system, which allows you to set an individual maximum speed; upholstery "York"; one-touch wipers on; tire sealant "Tirefit" with an electric compressor; green heat-absorbing glazing; active maintenance system (ASSYST); ABS; Esp; Brake-Assist; central display in the instrument cluster; central locking with collision sensor.

Mercedes C-Class 2008

Markedly updated power units, whose power has increased to a level corresponding to similar models of the BMW Series 3. Basic S180 is equipped with a 2.0-liter (and not 1.8-liter) 4-cylinder engine with 129 hp, which is quite enough for competition with the BMW 318i. The same engine, but with a volumetric supercharger already develops 163 hp It is installed on the C200 Compressor. The dynamic qualities of this car are superior to the BMW 320i. 230 Nm of torque allows the C200 Compressor to accelerate to 100 km / h in just 9.3 seconds. The maximum speed is 230 km / h.

Six-cylinder V-engines with a displacement of 2.6 and 3.2 liters and 170 and 218 hp. use on the C240 and C320 models. In the first case, we are talking about a rival BMW 323i, and in the second - a BMW 328i / 330i.

The characteristics of cars with diesel engines are also impressive. Diesel configuration 200CDI, C220CDI and C270CDI equipped with well-known 2.2-liter (4 cylinders) and 2.7-liter (5 cylinders) turbocharged engines with a common rail power system with 115, 143 and 170 hp of power. All of them are characterized by low fuel consumption and high "elasticity", which allows confident movement even at engine speeds of between 1500 and 2000 rpm. The new model S270CDI reaches a top speed of 230 km / h, which is 27 km / h more than the previous model C 250 Turbodiesel.

All the engines are completed with a new 6-speed manual gearbox, and by request (except for C320) - with a 5-speed hydromechanical “automatic”. Model C320 comes only with the "automatic", allowing and "manual" sequential gearshift.

Until 2001, all models of the new C-Class existed only with sedan bodies. In the spring of 2001, the appearance of the 3-door hatchback, and then the 5-D loyal universal T-Model. Therefore, the production of models T of the previous generation lasted about another year. The station wagon is offered in 10 versions with diesel and petrol engines with a capacity from 102 to 347 hp. (from the economical diesel C200T CDI to the C55T AMG station wagon).

In the spring of 2004, Mercedes-Benz begins selling C-class cars with several sport packages. The standard package includes 17-inch wheels with 225/45 tires in front and 245/40 in the rear. In addition, a stiffer suspension lowered the body by 25 millimeters in front and 15 millimeters in the rear. Reinforced and brakes on the front wheels, and the usual exhaust pipe gave way to an oval stainless steel. Diesel versions got 2 chrome exhaust pipes.

Mercedes C-Class 2008

Versions with 6-cylinder engines (C240 and C320) received an upgraded exhaust system that will fill the surrounding space with the sound of a sports car. Changes affected the cabin. Now there you can find sports seats, three-spoke steering wheel, pedal pads and velor floor mats.

For more sporty drivers, versions from the “court” tuning studio AMG are offered. They received a new aerodynamic package and 17-inch wheels design AMG. Four-wheel drive versions of 4Matic, for which tuning from AMG (C32 AMG and C30 AMG) is available, will not receive factory sports packages.

In 2004, the modernization of the C-class models (changes will mainly affect the cabin - the car will get more comfortable seats, more expensive trim materials and a new dashboard), which should allow it to "stay afloat" in the sector where competitors appear barely Do not every month.

The world premiere of the third-generation Mercedes-Benz C-class was held in March 2007 at the Geneva Motor Show. German specialists have long been preparing for this debut. In the course of its development, the new C-Class passed a total of over 100 crash tests. The car has become the personification of the latest developments of engineers DaimerChrysler AG. Smooth lines are in the past, it's time to sharp edges, sharp corners and traced wheel arches. In general, the C-class looks presentable: extremely short front overhang, wedge-shaped silhouette, high feed.

For the first time in the history of this model, the car is presented in three versions, which differ not only in the interior, but also in the exterior. Along with the baseline of the Classic performance, Mercedes-Benz presents the two original performance lines of Elegance and Avantgarde, which are distinguished by their individual character and a richer set of technical innovations. Thanks to this concept, customers will be able to make an even more accurate choice in favor of the characteristic properties of the C-class that attract them most.

The client can choose the design of the grille. The Classic sedan has a flat false radiator grille, the Elegance version has a more embossed, curved around the vertical lintel. And in the Avantgarde package, the three-star is located in the center of the grille, as in sports models of Mercedes-Benz. In versions of Elegance and Classic, a three-beam star, as in the previous generation, is located on the hood.

Mercedes C-Class 2008

The length of the third generation is 4581 mm, which is 55 mm longer than its predecessor. The width is increased by 42 mm - up to 1770, and the wheelbase is increased by 45 mm - up to 2760. The trunk volume is increased by 20 liters - up to 475 liters. With the change of generation C-class has gotten more rigid body. The body structure consists of 70% high-strength steel, which creates the basis for the safety of passengers. Compared with the previous model range, new cars have increased deformation zones and optimized collision energy absorption. In front of the body are four independent of each other deformation zones, which effectively absorb the energy of the collision, "diverting a blow" from the passenger compartment.

The interior design is concise. The quality of materials is excellent: soft plastic, inserts from real aluminum or wood, chrome, leather. Decent and thoughtful ergonomics allows you to feel comfortable in the space of the machine. The balance of comfort and handling in the C-Class is very good. And the main merit of this is a new three-link front suspension and a multi-link rear mounted on a subframe with hydraulic supports damping vibrations.

Compared to its predecessor, the new C-Class is already in standard equipment equipped with an even greater number of the latest safety and comfort systems. Among them, the Pre-Safe system, which itself tracks the distance to the cars in front and not only signals the driver about the danger, but even slows down if necessary. Among the new technical features of the new product is Agility Control - it regulates the operation of shock absorbers depending on the speed and driving style. The system constantly changes the stiffness of the suspension, and precisely when it is needed. Depending on the conditions, the suspension can be either stiffer or softer. The Adaptive Brake system makes it easier to start off on a rise and has many other “intelligent” functions. Bi-xenon headlights have five modes of operation, depending on the lighting conditions. And in the basic configuration of the C-Class 2007 there will be seven airbags: two frontal adaptive airbags - one each for the driver and front passenger, one for the driver’s knee, two side airbags, placed in the backs of the front seats, as well as two full-size window airbags, drop-down with a side impact along the entire space from the front to the rear pillar.

Most of the engines of the Mercedes-Benz C-class new generation received from the old model, but all units have been seriously modified. As a result, their power has increased and fuel consumption has decreased. The engine range includes diesel engines: C200 CDI R4 2148 cm³ / 136 hp; C220 CDI R4 2148 cm³ / 170 hp; C320 CDI V6 2987 cm³ / 224 hp

Petrol power units: C180 K R4 1796 cm³ / 156 hp; C200 K R4 1796 cm³ / 184 hp; C230 V6 2496 cm³ / 204 hp; C280 V6 2996 cm³ / 231 ps; C350 V6 3498 cm³ / 272 hp; C63 AMG V8 6208 cm³ / 450 hp

Mercedes C-class

The latest engine is equipped with the most powerful Mercedes-Benz C-class, which presented the AMG tuning studio. This motor is assembled by hand. The maximum torque is 600 Nm, of which 500 Nm is reached already at two thousand revolutions per minute. Up to 100 km / h C63 AMG accelerates in 4.5 seconds, and the maximum speed is electronically limited to 250 km / h. The engine is aggregated with a seven-speed automatic transmission with gearshift paddles.

The AMG C-class received an aerodynamic body kit, a new hood, as well as exclusive 18-inch wheels with tires of 235/40 on the front axle and 255/35 on the rear. 19-inch rims will be offered as an option. In addition, the atelier's specialists installed a new front suspension with an increased by 35 millimeters gauge on the car, an adjustable sports suspension, as well as reconfigured steering. The sedan received more effective brakes - six-piston front with 360-millimeter perforated discs and four-piston rear with 330-millimeter discs.

Also, the Mercedes C63 AMG is equipped with a three-level stabilization system (ESP). The system can be completely disabled or activate the sport mode.

In 2011, halfway to the next generation, the C-Class underwent a planned upgrade. As before, the updated Mercedes C-Class is available as a sedan and station wagon. Moreover, by the 2011 model year, the line of the 2-door 4-seater sports coupe was also revived. The 2011 model car looks really fresh, it is distinguished from its predecessor by two thousand new parts. Ten new auxiliary systems, a new line of engines, an improved automatic transmission 7G-TRONIC PLUS, as well as a start-stop system ECO.

The front and back of the best-selling Mercedes model have acquired a brighter design. New contours of the front bumper in combination with the new design of LED headlights give the car a more expressive and dynamic look. The central air intake is V-shaped, visually forming the base unit for the grille. Large side air intakes come to the side of the car, adding to the exterior of sportiness. The hood is made of aluminum, which contributes to weight reduction, and, consequently, reduce fuel consumption.

Mercedes C-class

The updated C-Class still relies on the W204 platform, so that radical design changes are not visible on the chassis. Dimensions (and wheelbase) of the upgraded version remained unchanged - so that inside is still spacious. Worthy and well-thought-out ergonomics make it possible to feel quite comfortable and even cozy in the space of the car. Impeccable interior tailored. Interior furnishing pleases with functionality and modern design. The main focus of the design work on the interior was the restyling of the front instrument panel integrated with a high-quality display with an improved and more detailed touch screen function. The center console has become more modern, mature and premium. The gentle visor of the instrument cluster sprawled out halfway down the front panel and covered the fixed display. The devices look at the driver from deep wells, and the overall architecture is designed in the spirit of the CLS and E-Class sedans. In the interior, only high-quality materials are used: the seats are upholstered with Brighton fabrics, soft plastic. Particular attention is paid to the ergonomics of the driver's workplace: a multifunctional “steering-wheel” covered with leather is adjusted for tilt and departure. And the front seats move not only back and forth, but also in height. It is noteworthy that the internal space is tightly soundproofed, on the go in the cabin is calm and quiet.

The “standard” budget package includes Audio-stereo Audio 20CD (MP3 player), Bluetooth headset, power accessories, Thermatic 2-zone climate control, Tempomat adaptive cruise control with Speedtronic function and much more. For a fee, there is a harman / kardon LOGIC7 12-speaker music, Becker MAP Pilot navigation, Thermotronic 3-zone climate control, leather upholstery (optional) and other attributes of automotive luxury.

The capacity of the luggage compartment varies depending on the type of body. The most modest supply of useful space, of course, in the coupe version - 450 liters. The sedan's trunk volume is 475 liters (VDA), and the folding rear seat backrests (a paid option) allow the loading of “long-lengths”. The wagon is able to swallow up to 1500 liters of volume with a maximum length of up to 2.82 m (with the rear row of seats folded), which is 150 liters more than its predecessor. In standard condition (with a number of seats unfolded), the trunk volume of the station wagon is 485 liters. It is worth noting that the tailgate of the novelty was endowed with an electric drive and is able to open and close by pressing a key.

The line of power units was thoroughly modified: the central place was taken by gasoline and diesel engines with direct fuel injection into the combustion chambers. The new engine is only one - the V6 with an innovative and highly efficient BlueDIRECT process. The power of this unit is 306 hp and 370 Nm of torque (previously 292 hp and 365 Nm). The base engine is the C180 variant with a 156-horsepower 1.8-liter turbo unit with a maximum torque of 250 Nm. This is followed by a 204-strong C250 with a maximum torque of 310 Nm. As for diesel, they are 170-strong C220 CDI (400 Nm) and 204-strong C250 CDI (500 Nm). Serially, all diesel units and petrol base are equipped with a six-speed manual gearbox, and all others - seven-speed automatic. Both transmissions are adapted to the star / stop system, which is installed on the C-class for the first time.

Safety technology in the C-class is the most advanced. In addition to numerous “pillows” (including the knee for the driver) and “curtains” on the windows, 3-point belts and “active” Neck Pro head restraints, optional hi-tech systems are offered, such as electronic monitoring of the driver's attention Attention Assist. As well as Adaptive Highbeam Assist, Active Lane Keeping Assist, Active Blind Spot Assist and Speed Limit Assist. Finally, a comprehensive system to protect passengers and mitigate the effects of collisions Pre-Safe.

Since the beginning of sales of the third generation, a little less than 2.5 million copies have been sold.

The 4th generation developers faced a difficult task to raise the already highly dragged bar to a fundamentally different level. The new-generation Mercedes-Benz C-Class sedan in the back of the W205 was introduced in mid-December 2013. The official premiere will be held in January 2014 at the Detroit Auto Show.

The basis of the car lay modular rear-wheel drive platform MRA, already used for the S-Class sedan. In front - a new independent four-lever suspension with aluminum levers, which has become two kilograms lighter than the former MacPherson. The rear suspension remained five-lever, but it was modernized to reduce noise and vibrations.

In addition, buyers of the Mercedes C-Class in the new body of the W205 will be able to choose one of several Direct Control suspension options. Among them - a sports version with reduced by 15 mm ground clearance, a comfortable version, equipped with shock absorbers that automatically adjust stiffness, and a similar version, where the driver manages the choice of modes. But that's not all.

For the first time in this segment, Mercedes-Benz proposed for the C-Class an air suspension capable of independently adjusting the ground clearance, depending on the speed and degree of loading of the car. There are five pre-set driving modes: Comfort, Eco, Sport, Sport Plus and Individual. In the latter, you can configure various parameters of the machine at your discretion.

The fourth-generation Mercedes-Benz C-Class has significantly increased in size. The car was 95 mm longer (4686 mm) and 40 mm wider (1810 mm). The size of the wheelbase has also increased - now it is equal to 2840 mm against the previous 2760 mm. In this case, the mass of the sedan was less. This was achieved thanks to the increased use of aluminum in the body structure. Compared to its predecessor, the number of body panels made from this metal will increase from nine to 48 percent. Composite materials have appeared in the design, as well as increased use of hot-formed steel (from three to eight percent) and super-strength steel (from three to four percent). The body has become lighter by 70 kilograms, and the total weight of the car will be reduced by 100 kilograms. A lighter design allowed for greater fuel efficiency and a whole host of other benefits.

The trunk of the Mercedes C-Class 2014 has also become more spacious - now it allows you to transport up to 481 liters of cargo at a time against 475 liters earlier.

The exterior is made with the style of the older brother Mercedes-Benz S-Class. The same clear lines and surfaces, the same proportions of the body, the same aerodynamic profile with a falling roof line, a long sloping hood and short overhangs. Front sedan optics can be either with halogen lamps and LED running lights, or fully LED. Taillights in all versions have a "stuffing" of LEDs.

For the design of the exterior and interior of the car there are three lines of design - Avantgarde, Exclusive and AMG. The first allows you to imagine the Mercedes-Benz C-Class as a sports sedan (the company logo is located on the grille), the second one makes a bias towards luxury and aristocracy (the three-beam star is mounted on the hood), the third one gives the car a more decisive and aggressive look.

Increasing the wheelbase of the car allowed us to get even more free space inside, especially for rear seat passengers. The interior of the Mercedes Benz C-Class 2014 is traditionally made of high quality materials. Wood inserts and soft leather with a minimum of seams are used everywhere. Almost completely reworked dashboard. The multimedia system COMAND Online acquired a 7- or 8.4-inch screen (depending on the level of equipment) and a touch panel on the central tunnel. The latter allows you to control all the functions of the machine with the help of gestures with your fingers (like on smartphones), and every touch of the panel is accompanied by tactile feedback.

It is worth noting that the progressive system COMAND Online is installed in the older configurations, the initial configuration is equipped with the Audio 20 CD multimedia system, which allows you to connect the phone via Bluetooth, play audio files from USB media and CDs, listen to the radio.

In addition, the Mercedes-Benz C-Class will acquire a projection display and a new climate control system, which is able to adjust its work in accordance with GPS data. For example, if the electronics understand that the car has entered the tunnel, the air recirculation mode will be automatically activated. As an option, available flavoring and air ionization system, as in the S-Class. Three round nozzles of the air conditioning system are located directly below the screen of the head unit, and two at the edges of the panel.

The list of security systems will include adaptive cruise control, automatically keeping the car in the right lane, a frontal collision avoidance system operating at speeds up to 200 kilometers per hour, a circular video review system and automatic parking. Also, the electronics will be able to independently recognize the installed child seat in front and turn off the airbag. The Intelligent Light System's lighting control system provides optimum visibility according to road conditions, for example, it can independently switch headlights from far to near and back when cars are detected, and also change the length and direction of the light beam depending on the situation. Among other active assistants to the driver, significantly increasing driving safety, it is worth noting the adaptive system of emergency braking BAS Plus and the brake system Pre-Safe.

The engine range of the C-Class family will include several gasoline and diesel engines. In Russia, three modifications will be available at first: C 180, C 200 and C 220 CDI. The first version is equipped with a 4-cylinder 1.6-liter gasoline engine with a turbocharging capacity of 156 hp, which becomes available at 5300 rpm. The maximum torque of such a power unit is 250 N * m. Mercedes-Benz C 200 is equipped with a 2-liter 184-horsepower gasoline engine, capable of generating 300 Nm of torque in the range from 1,200 to 4,000 rpm.

The diesel version of the C 220 CDI is completed with a 2.2-liter four-cylinder engine and 170 hp. It is capable of developing a maximum torque of 400 N * m in the range from 1,400 to 2,800 rpm. Fuel consumption C 220 CDI is 4.2 l / 100 km in the combined cycle.

Transmissions - six-speed "mechanics" and a modified seven-range "automatic".

Cars with four-wheel drive 4MATIC and more powerful power units (versions C 250 CDI 4MATIC, C 300 4MATIC, C 400 4MATIC) may go on sale in Russia later.
