2018 Mazda BT-50 review | CarTell.tv

The debut of the Mazda BT-50 took place in 2006. The car is produced at an enterprise in Southeast Asia.

Mazda BT-50 is more than just freight transport, it is an integral part of an active lifestyle. BT in the model name means belonging to the model range of the B-Series Truck, and 50 indicates that the pickup is intermediate between light trucks and heavy trucks (over a ton).

The model is remembered for a bright appearance, sporty and dynamic style. Every detail of the design emphasizes the highest quality of performance. The design of the body with a massive front facing, united grille, bumper and headlights, looks impressive and athletic. Wide wheel arches and chrome arc on the trunk give aggressiveness. Light alloy wheels and two-tone body color (optional equipment) underline the strong character. BT-50 has become 70 mm longer than the predecessor Mazda B-2500, and the height of the doors and sides of the body increased by 30 and 60 mm, respectively. The exterior has become more streamlined and more solid. BT-50 looks beautiful and modern.

Salon in terms of comfort and finish meets the highest requirements. The interior is not flashy novelty, bright design tricks, but everything is done thoroughly and with taste. Inside there is a new front panel and center console. Instrument readings are well read. Completes the picture thoroughly redesigned interior, newly tuned steering and chassis, significantly improved insulation and aerodynamics. It is comfortable to sit in front and behind - there is enough space.

The role of the main driving force is offered a new, designed specifically for this model, 2.5-liter diesel power unit with a turbocharging 143 hp and 330 Nm. This engine provides excellent dynamics and efficiency. The average consumption of diesel fuel is now 8.9 l / 100 km.

All-wheel-drive Mazda BT-50 in the Double Cab version with a 4-door cab and in 4 trim levels (Direct, Touring, more expensive Touring version and top-end Activ version) are supplied to the Russian market. A single Regular Cab and a one-and-a-half Freestyle Cab, like the rear-wheel drive versions, are not planned to be delivered to Russia.

Of special tricks to deal with Russian frosts and low-quality diesel fuel in the design of the Mazda BT-50 provides pre-heating the fuel in the fuel filter, as well as a sensor for the presence of water in the fuel tank and a valve to drain it.

With all the nobility of its appearance, the Mazda BT-50 remains an excellent pickup truck. Unique technical solutions facilitate and simplify loading and transportation. The four-door five-seater cabin BT-50 is one of the most spacious among the pickups of this class. The car can easily accommodate the driver, four passengers and the necessary cargo: bicycles, snowboards and jet skis.

Mazda has retained the traditional and successful for pickups design: four-wheel drive, rigid frame, rear spring suspension, torsion bar in front, rigid connection of the front axle and limited slip differential in the rear axle.

Mazda BT-50 - a successful synthesis of modern design, excellent ride quality and high-torque engine. The car turned out the most practical, comfortable, reliable, having its own personality. Roomy pickup for all occasions.
