Honda Integra debuted in 1985. The car was presented with a sedan and coupe. Overseas model is sold under the brand Acura Integra.
The second-generation Honda Integra was released in 1989 and was produced until 1993. It was on this generation that the first B16A engine with the VTEC system was installed for the first time - the world's first aspirated serial car engine with a specific power of 100 hp on one liter of working volume. Honda Integra of this generation was produced in two body options: three-door coupe and four-door sedan.
Four types of engines were installed on cars:
- ZC with double horizontal carport Keihin 1.6 l / 105 hp
- ZC with PGM-FI injection 1.6 l / 120 hp
- First generation B16A with VTEC 1.6 l / 160 hp (with manual transmission) / 150 hp (with automatic transmission)
In 1991-1993, the B16A of the second generation with the VTEC system of 1.6 liters / 170 hp is added to the gamma of engines. (with manual transmission) / 155 hp (with automatic transmission)
All versions of Integra have an independent suspension with double wishbones and a stabilizer both in front and behind. Front brakes on all versions ventilated disc. Back on the modifications RX, ZX, TXi - drum, and on the RXi, ZXi, RSi, XSi - disc.
In all versions, both a five-speed manual transmission and a four-speed six-position automatic with electronic control can be installed (on vehicles with a ZC engine, single-mode, and on vehicles with a B16A engine - with two modes: Sport and Normal.
Individual copies of this generation are interesting because they combine the simplest engine and high-tech equipment of the cabin. The equipment list may include: height adjustment of the steering wheel, mirrors painted in the color of the car with electrically adjustable, automatic transmission selector position indicator on the instrument panel, a light off reminder signal, a digital quartz watch, two glove boxes, trunk lid levers and the fuel tank cap from the cabin, pocket behind the passenger seat, rear window with electric, front seats with good lateral support, body-colored bumper, hydraulic booster, power windows, air conditioning button control, air conditioning ioner, climate control, headrests of the front seats with a cut-out for better visibility, double rear seat with deep niches and armrest, tachometer, antikryrylo on the trunk, etc.
The Honda Integra of the second generation can be described as unpretentious, reliable and at the same time quite stylish car.
The third generation appeared already in 1993. In such a short time, Integra has significantly changed its appearance. The appearance of the car has become even more rapid. The front part gave a pointed shape, so that the car acquired a predatory look. The interior is somewhat different from the previous generation, although continuity is still present. The angular design of the second generation was replaced by the thoughtful and concise design of the third. Honda specialists have taken into account all the shortcomings.
The instrument panel is perfectly readable. The rear seats as in the previous generation are molded into two places. The volume of the luggage compartment remained the same large, considering that we are considering a sports coupe.
Suspension also inherited. The classic Hondov scheme for those times is a double-lever front and four-lever rear.
Honda Integra 1994 lineup lasted only two years on the market, after which it moved overseas and joined the Honda Acura model range. There were two models on sale: a 3-door coupe and a 4-door sedan. Integra is especially known for its security systems and standard equipment, which includes air conditioning on models at the top of the range. The engine installed on the Integra with a working volume of 1.7 l accelerates the car to 180 km / h.
In the fall of 1997, a more powerful one was introduced - Integra Type R - a sports car coupe.
Integra of the late 90s is available in two body versions: sedan and coupe. The buyer is offered a choice of four petrol 4-cylinder power units of 1.6 - 1.8 liters and 144, 173 and 190 hp. The maximum speed of the model is 210 km / h. Integra is equipped with a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission. Brakes - disc (on the front wheels - ventilated).
The salon is quite spacious. The seats are comfortable with lateral support, upholstered in soft and pleasant velor. There are many different capacities for luggage: two glove boxes on the dashboard, pockets in the doors, cup holders, ashtrays. The steering wheel is height adjustable. The control panel is very informative. Good visibility ahead. Rear - a little worse, because of the low landing. Suspension tough, multi-link, independent.
The useful volume of the trunk - 345 liters, and if you fold the rear seats, then released another 255 liters - a total of 600 liters.
The car is of high quality Japanese assembly. Despite belonging to the middle class, packed to the eyeballs.
Integra is equipped with: anti-lock braking system ABS (optional), air conditioning / climate control, power steering, driver and front passenger airbags, power windows, power mirrors and central locking, etc.
In the winter of 2001, the fourth generation Integra Coupe made its debut in Detroit. The characteristic wedge-shaped silhouette, the drop line of the hood and the original front lighting with dual headlights, closed triangular panes, give the Integra a dynamic and even aggressive look. Aluminum is widely used in the design of the "high-tech" interior.
Gamma engine with i-VTEC system: base 2-liter R4 with 160 hp and forced to 220 hp modification for Type-R.
Integra Type R 2001 lineup creators without false modesty positioned as "the fastest front-wheel drive sports model in the world." The latest technology used on this car, forcing all the mechanisms to instantly respond to controls and allow you to unwind the engine speed to unimaginable performance in seconds.
The car is equipped with a 2-liter inline 4-cylinder engine of the new project type DOHC i-VTEC (with a double overhead camshaft and variable valve timing system). The unit is incredibly flexible for an atom-spherical engine squeezing 220 hp. Shows its true qualities at high speeds, the limit of which is 8400 r / min. Integra Type-R accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in just 6.1 seconds, the maximum speed is 235 km / h.
The 6-speed manual transmission, which has a cross-ratio, perfectly preserves the torque from the engine.
The real potential created by the power unit and excellent transmission requires the provision of increased body rigidity, as well as an appropriate suspension and reliable braking system. Brembo brakes provide excellent grip, are powerful weapons when driving on a winding road and give the driver confidence.
The body of the Type R modification is completed with an aerodynamic body kit and spoilers. The Recaro bucket seats and the small leather Momo steering wheel can already be said to be integral attributes of the interior of the Integra Type R. aluminum.
It can be clearly said that the new "Type R" is far superior to the generally accepted ideas about front-wheel drive cars.
Another Integra individual is the iS modification. Its maximum power is 160 hp. at 6500 rpm, but the torque in practical limits is even better than that of the "Type R". Pickup at high speeds, of course, is weaker than that of the “Type R”, however, the power on city streets exceeds expectations. As for driving conditions, this modification is much more comfortable.
In 2004, Honda introduced a new Integra Type R. The main change in the exterior of the car was its significant expansion. Experts left the classic for Integra design with a front rounded and extended headlights, and the optics at the rear has not changed. To the color palette of the body added a new color - velveteen blue.
The increase in the body required the installation of a special suspension, and the developers raised the steering column.
On the Integra Type R put a new bumper, which further underlines the excellent dynamics of the car.
The interior features such stylish elements as: a steel knob of the gear lever and aluminum inserts in the pedals. Measuring devices have become significantly larger. Honda Integra iS in the new version turned into a Type S. It looks like it is not much different from the Type R. But small details of the finish indicate sportiness, for example, the steering wheel is made of natural leather. Engine power remains the same as on previous models iS - 160 l. with. Since the main focus was on the work of the drives, the developers changed the stuffing of the steering and five-speed manual gearbox. The body was slightly raised and put 17-inch wheels.
Honda Integra embodies an amazing balance of external aggressiveness, excellent handling and agility.
