Also by 1999, various specialized modifications of the minibus were developed under the names: Ducato Goods Transport (for the transport of goods), Ducato Passenger Transport (passenger) and Ducato Combi (passenger-cargo version).
The following engines were offered for Fiat Ducato Goods Transport: a 2.0-liter gasoline engine (99 hp), a 2.0-liter JTD turbo diesel with a capacity of 99 hp. (was proposed in 1999), a 2.3-liter JTD 16-valve turbodiesel with a volume of 2.3 liters (108 hp) and a 2.8 liter JTD turbo-diesel power unit. It was also proposed two options for the transmission: 5-speed manual gearbox and 4-speed "automatic".
As for the passenger model - Fiat Ducato Passenger Transport, it could accommodate from six to nine passengers and was offered with a 16-valve turbocharged diesel power unit JTD of 2.3 liters and 110 hp.
The universal Ducato Combi model could be successfully used both for the transportation of passengers (up to nine people) and for the transportation of goods. The car also had versions with different payloads, but already only three Ducato 10 (1 ton), Ducato 14 (1.4 t) and Ducato Maxi 18 (1.8 t).
In 2003, the Fiat Ducato undergoes another external change. This year, a 2.5-liter diesel power unit is eliminated from the list of engines, and the vehicle’s payload is significantly increasing. Fiat Ducato now receives the following versions: Ducato 29 (2.9 tonnes), Ducato 30 (3.0 tonnes), Ducato 33 (3.3 tonnes) and Ducato Maxi 35 (3.5 tonnes).
In 2006, the third generation Fiat Ducato was introduced, which is currently being produced. The car is also available in various trim levels, both passenger and freight. The load capacity options are as follows: Ducato 30 (3 tons), Ducato 33 (3.3 tons), Ducato Maxi 35 (3.5 tons) and Ducato Maxi 40 (4 tons). The list of engines now offers only diesel power units, namely: 2.2 Multijet 99 hp; 2.3 Multijet 118 hp and 128 hp; 3.0 Multijet Power 155 hp
