Cadillac ATS - compact sedan class "D". For the first time this car was introduced as a concept car in 2009. In early 2012, at a press conference in Detroit, the company said that the Cadillac ATS is fully ready for mass production, which started in the summer of 2012. A distinctive feature of the model was the platform Alpha Platform, which is of the rear wheel drive type. The curb weight of the Cadillac ATS 2013 is 1,542 kg, which is one of the lowest in this class. This was achieved due to the aluminum hood, magnesium engine subframe and light door panels in the cabin.

The design of the Cadillac ATS traces the characteristic angular features of the rest of the company's models - a branded grille in chrome, vertical taillights, but sharp edges gave way to smoother lines. And the most striking feature of the model was the head optics, which goes far on the wings. The exterior harmoniously combines elegance with fast-moving lines that highlight the sporty character of a sedan.

The model has rather large dimensions. Thanks to this, the cabin is very spacious. This allows you to achieve special comfort for all passengers when traveling, even over long distances. The front of the cabin is very comfortable. The height of the ceiling in the front of the cabin is 980 mm, legroom - 1079 mm. The legroom in the backseat is 851 mm. Trim can be called chic. Leather and wood elements create an atmosphere of luxury. And on the skin of the torpedo and door trimming, a rough overlap was also made, adding, according to the designers, a certain brutality.

The chairs are ergonomic, sporty (with lateral support), comfortable and very flexible in terms of various parameters. The driver's seat has a memory for two positions. A very interesting danger warning function is built into the chairs: as soon as the sensors detect the presence of an obstacle (vehicle, person, structure) in the dangerous vicinity of the car, the vibration mechanism briefly turns on in the side portions of the seat. Also, this warning is triggered when the car inadvertently leaves the occupied band a little and when the dead zone interference sensor is triggered (in this case, the warning light also lights up in the corresponding rear-view mirror).

The steering wheel with leather trim is great in the hands, controls are located on the steering wheel on the left and right. Left on the steering wheel - voice control, cruise control and call control. On the right - media player control, volume and menu selection. Under the steering wheel from left to right are the manual shift control knobs made from magnesium alloy. The highlight of the interior is an infotainment system with an 8-inch LCD touch screen and the ability to connect up to 10 devices via Bluetooth, as well as a USB input and an SD card slot.

Trunk volume is small and is only 290 liters.

The line of motors includes three petrol engines. The base is a 2.5-liter atmospheric "four" with a capacity of 200 hp. (255 Nm), the intermediate version is represented by a 2.0-liter turbo four, giving out 276 hp and 353 Nm of torque at the peak, and the top option is a 3.6-liter V6 with a return of 318 "horses" (362 Nm). All engines can be combined with a six-speed manual and automatic transmissions. We deliver sedans only with a 2.0-liter 176-strong engine.

The sedan is equipped with Brembo brakes, ZF power steering, has an ideal axle weighting in the ratio of 50/50, and optionally you can order a sports suspension with Magnetic Ride Control and all-wheel drive.

There are three options for configuration: Standard, Luxury and Performance. The basic equipment includes Brembo front brakes, a sports suspension, a limited-slip differential, dual-zone climate control, a multimedia CUE system with an eight-inch touchscreen display, 17-inch alloy wheels and much more. Among the options are bi-xenon optics, adaptive cruise control, full-time navigation, a BOSE audio system with 10 speakers and various security systems.

This sedan is designed to compete with such cars as the BMW 3-series, Mercedes C-class, Lexus IS and Acura TSX.
